STUDENT FINANCING

Are you thinking about how you’re going to finance your flight training? Making the decision as to how you wish to invest in your future in helicopter aviation requires very careful consideration. Having all of the necessary information on hand will make that decision easier. We have taken the time to research and partner with a number of reputable financial institutions and organizations in an effort to better assist you.

We currently recommend the following organizations for your student financing needs:

Vertex Helicopters Flight Services

The Pilot Finance programs are designed for flight students on a part time training schedule - one to five lessons per week. Effective rates as low as 9% for Preferred Customers who have a reasonable debt-to-income ratio and a good credit record. The maximum amount financed is limited only by the applicant's income, debts, and credit record.

AOPA and Bank of America have teamed up to provide funding for flight training. They offer predictable payments and no annual fee. No collateral is needed. Financing is available for amounts of up to $25,000.

If the resources listed above aren't what you're looking for, you can consider some of the following resources:

1. Flight Training Scholarships: There are many organizations that offer aviation related scholarships. The great thing about scholarships it that you never have to pay them back. Its free money for your flight training needs. Click here for a list of organizations that offer aviation scholarships.

2. Credit Cards: If you have a good credit score then you can finance your flight training with a credit card. Usually you can find yourself a credit card that offers lower interest rates then your local bank would charge you for a personal loan.

3. Grants: Try to find an aviation training grant offered by the government. There are a few out there. Grants do not have to be paid back so it’s free money for your flight training.

4. Apply for a personal loan at your local bank.
